A review of our Women & Golf event on 7 June (Women's Golf Day) at Silvermere Golf & Leisure.

We love hosting our Women & Golf events and after a trip to Spain in April and Norfolk in May, we found ourselves in leafy Surrey at the Silvermere Golf & Leisure complex for our annual golf and shopping event.

The tree-lined golf course at Silvermere is a true test of golf located in the heart of Surrey. The first six holes are sure to get the pulse racing with tight fairways, challenging approaches and great views. However, the course is probably most renowned for the 17th and 18th holes which are played over Silvermere Lake!

Our day at Silvermere Golf & Leisure

It was great to welcome back some familiar faces and say hello to women who were attending their first Women & Golf event. Players came from all corners of the South East - Middlesex, Essex, Surrey & Kent plus a group who travelled up from Dorset.

The players enjoyed breakfast in the beautifully appointed Waterside Suite with lovely views across the lake and towards the 17th green.

Everyone received a Women & Golf goodie bag (see below).

Later in the day, the players took advantage of the fantastic 30% discount afforded to Women & Golf at the amazing Silvermere shop. It has an unrivalled ladies section with collections from the major brands such as Chervo, Rohnisch, Green Lamb, and Daily Sports. Plus the latest fashions from PING, Callaway, Adidas and Puma.

Silvermere are running their ever popular 20% off on new season clothing for their Privilege Card holders in-store so it's worth downloading the app before you visit next time.

Photo call

No Women & Golf event would be the same without a photo call. A beautiful sweeping fairway faced the players on the 1st tee.

The format was an individual stableford (playing off a full playing handicap). Plus, there was mystery team prize.

A reviving stop at the 12th

Thanks to Slingsby, the players took a well-earned break at the 12th to sample some gin & tonic, gin spritz or non-alcoholic refreshments.

Just a little something to give them a pep before setting out on the last 6 holes.

Unfortunately, we could get Anton du Beke to serve the drinks, so Kim had to do the honours!

After the round, the players commented what a tough challenge the course was but very enjoyable with magnificent views and the course in amazing condition. The rhododendrons even stayed out a little longer for our visit!

Prizegiving

Scores were very close with one outright winner achieving 33 points AND two players on 32 points! These were great scores considering the course was playing tough. So, we had to use count back to determine the 2nd & 3rd prizes.

Even though some of the ladies had played Silvermere before there had been a number of improvements and a new water feature on the 14th!

The winners were as follows:

And a special mention to our partner Lester Brunt Wealth Management for the leather wallets team prize.
