Oulton Hall, one of the top golf resorts in the north of England, is to receive an investment of more than £1m to meet the modern needs of its guests.

Inspired by the ever-changing demands of its clients, the £1.1m refurbishment of the resort’s 18th century mansion-turned hotel will mean the popular Leeds venue – part of QHotels, the UK’s largest golf resort operator – can offer the latest technology to enhance its golfing experience.

As well as upgrading the furniture, décor and furnishings in its bedrooms, the renovation work at Oulton Hall will also include installing bedside USB charging points in bedrooms and new safes specifically designed for laptops and a laptop drawer with lighting for easy access and use.

Improved accommodation facilities will increase the number of twin rooms available for golf groups whilst upgraded LED lighting will be fitted to enhance the working environment in rooms for leisure and business travellers. In addition, an improved WiFi service will also be available with a greater capacity so guests can stay connected while moving around the hotel.

Claire Steven, general manager of Oulton Hall, said:

“To continue to offer the very best experience for our guests, it’s important that we’re not only listening to our customers but taking their feedback on board to evolve and enhance the facilities at Oulton Hall.

“The refurbishment will benefit all the different types of guests we welcome, from hotel, golf and spa leisure guests to business travellers and those attending conferences and events.”

The investment made by QHotels - which owns nine other golf resorts across the UK, including Aldwark Manor near York - is part of a bigger £50 million investment across the hotel group this year.

As well as featuring 27 holes designed by leading golf course architect Dave Thomas and outstanding practice facilities, Oulton Hall boasts the north of England's leading golf performance centre and is a must for aficionados of the game

Along with a state-of-the-art QHotels Golf Academy, the top venue offers a range of other facilities aimed at fine-tuning your swing, while the Claret Jug course restaurant is ideal place to re-energise after a long day on the course.
