Off the back of an amazing season, the Costa Daurada is ready to welcome golfers from across Europe to experience their golf, leisure and culture. The Costa Daurada, regarded as the hidden gem of Spanish golf, prides itself on giving golfers the complete Mediterranean experience.

Encompassing championship golf, idyllic beaches and cultural delights, a holiday to the Costa Daurada showcases the depth and beauty of the Catalonian region, which is best known for its golden sands and spectacular UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Home to seven championship golf courses including: Lumine Mediterránea Beach & Golf Community, Bonmont Golf Club, and Golf Costa Daurada, the sun-soaked region is an obvious choice for a golfing retreat. Nonetheless, it is the plethora of attractions away from the course that make the Costa Daurada stand-out as a must visit destination and nestled between six wine regions and surrounded by a wealth of world-class local restaurants, the Costa Daurada offers much more than rounds of golf.

With events and functions taking place all year long, a quick snapshot into the coming months provides interested golfers with all that they need to know to go ahead and book their holidays:

The Medieval Week, held from April 23– May 5, will have an extensive program of events, including a medieval market and representation of the Legend of St George.

May 3 sees the wineries of Porrera making their best wines from the 2017/18 harvests available to enthusiasts. Only a few of these wines can ever be found on the market and these have been assembled especially for this tasting.

From May 3 – May 5 is when the wineries of Priorat and Montsant return to Falset, Tarragona. This city, which was founded before 5th Century BC gives visitors not only the chance to try amazing wines, but also the opportunity to let their inner historian out as they explore fascinating ancient architecture.

With the Food and Wine Show and the Cambrils Music Festival also coming in the summer, it is no surprise that the Costa Daurada is becoming one of the most sought after retreats in Europe for a complete golfing holiday.

Marta Farrero, Costa Daurada Tourist Board Director, commented: “Year-on-year we see the number of visitors increasing and this is because of the complete package offering which we can provide them. Visitors can play Greg Norman-designed courses at Lumine or the Robert Trent Jr. designed course at Bonmont, relax by the beach or take in some of the richest culture that Spain has to be experienced.”

“We look forward to welcoming golfers this summer with their families for a trip that they will never forget.”
