Five Key Areas Driving Women's Golf Growth
On International Women's Day 2025, Scottish Golf launched its Women and Girls Golf strategy with a commitment to expanding female participation through five key areas:
- Changing perceptions of golf: more women and girls should see golf as an inclusive sport for all skill levels.
- Increasing female leadership and representation in golf. Developing female role golf leaders and models within the sport
- Creating clear pathways: ensuring beginner-friendly experiences and structured opportunities for progression in all areas of the sport
- Supporting women-friendly clubs to improve female golfer retention and create a welcoming experience
- Building a sustainable future investing in gender equality initiatives to ensure lasting change in golf

Funding and Investment in Women's Golf
Scottish Golf is backing its commitment with funding in key areas:
- Women's golf development fund: grants for golf clubs committed to expanding female participation
- Female-specific programmes at different skill levels
- Golf Ambassadors for women: Recruiting public and community-based ambassadors to inspire and mentor female golfers
