Get your distance from the ball right first
Use Georgia’s club-out-in-front drill — hold the club at belly button height, hinge from the hips, and let the clubhead fall to the ground to find your ideal ball position and stance width.
Guide the backswing with alignment sticks
Place two sticks parallel behind the ball and feel your hands tracking along the inside line while the clubhead runs along the outside line — stopping at knee height to check the club sits just outside your hands.
Let a sorted backswing do the downswing work
Once setup and backswing are correct, the downswing becomes a rotation — shift weight to the lead side, rotate hips and shoulders, and let the arms drop with the handle leading, not the clubhead.
