Wilson has launched the Aurora, a 10-piece women’s complete set priced at £1,099 that pairs titanium driver technology and cavity-back irons with a genuinely well-thought-out bag and accessories package. We take a first look.
Complete club sets have long had a reputation problem. They’re often the compromise option — affordable but forgettable, functional but uninspiring. Wilson is making a pointed effort to change that with the Aurora, a 10-piece women’s package that sits firmly at the premium end of the complete set market.
What’s in the bag?
The set includes a titanium driver with a forged face, a 5-wood, two hybrids (5 and 6), 7-iron through sand wedge, and the INFINITE Aurora putter, which features a double-milled face for more consistent roll. Across the bag, the emphasis is on lightweight construction, higher launch and forgiveness — the things that genuinely matter for newer players and improvers building confidence with their game.
What sets the Aurora apart from the typical boxed set is the finishing. Wilson has paid proper attention to the bag and accessories, offering a choice of cart bag (14-way top, cooler pocket, cart strap channel) or stand bag (5-way top, DryTech-lined valuables pocket, umbrella holder). Both use YKK zippers, which is a small detail that speaks to build quality. Five PU leather headcovers complete the package, and the whole thing comes in a muted sandrift and snow colourway that avoids the trap of making women’s equipment look like it was designed by a greeting card company.
Is it worth the investment?
At £1,099 (€1,200), it’s a significant outlay for a complete set, but Wilson is clearly pitching this at women who want to invest once and invest well, rather than buy cheap and upgrade six months later. For the golfer who’s committed to the game but doesn’t yet want to navigate the minefield of building a set club by club, the Aurora is a genuinely compelling option.
Wilson claim the set was built from the ground up for women, with lightweight components and materials chosen specifically to help generate more clubhead speed and higher launch.
