With the Curtis Cup only three days away we place the spotlight on England's Charlotte Thomas who is preparing to tee it up in her second transatlantic match at Dun Laoghaire.

Twenty-three-year old Charlotte Thomas is coming to the Curtis Cup on a high after leading Washington University to victory in the NCAA Championship. In her final year of study, the England International helped Washington defeat favourites Stanford in the final at Eugene Country Club to claim their first national title. The result capped off an impressive college season for the Surrey-born player, which included a win and seven top ten finishes.

Based in Australia, and having previously lived in Singapore, the English mid-amateur champion has a thoroughly international record. Early this year she claimed victory at the inaugural Annika Invitational at Mission Hills in Shenzhen, China, whilst over the past couple of seasons she has achieved a string of good results in Australia.

Having made her Curtis Cup debut two years ago in Missouri, as well as representing GB&I in last year’s Vagliano Trophy, Thomas will be able to bring a level of experience to a GB&I team that includes five rookies. Nonetheless this may well be the last time Thomas will represent GB&I with the world number 42 planning to head to tour school at the end of this season.

The Curtis Cup gets underway this Friday (10 June) at Dun Laoghaire Golf Club, near Dublin.
