Carol Delf – Norfolk Ladies' County President
As a long-standing member of Great Yarmouth & Caister Golf Club, Carol has been involved with the Norfolk Ladies’ County Golf Association for over 20 years. Her many roles have included being a member of the Executive Committee, Chairman of the Executive, County Captain and the Junior Organiser for seven years.
In 2021 Carol received the county development award from the England Golf Partnership for her volunteer work developing junior girls golf in Norfolk.
Carol has a lifelong love and involvement in the game and this, coupled with her immense knowledge, will ensure she is a valued figurehead and leader for the Norfolk Ladies’ County Golf Association.
Carol said:
“It is a privilege to become the Norfolk Ladies’ President. I look forward to supporting the association, teams and players over the coming years.”
Sharon Black – County Captain
A member of Dunston Hall Golf Club, Sharon has been involved with the county for many years through playing and captaining the 2nd team and also playing for the 1st team.
Born and bred in Norfolk, Sharon has always had a love of sport having played club tennis, squash and badminton as a junior as well as national league hockey for Harleston Magpies. She also studied Sports Science at Nottingham Trent University.
Sharon took up golf while on holiday in the Algarve but didn’t begin to play seriously until later when her son was older. She started to excel by winning club and county competitions and continues to do so today.
Sharon is committed to her ongoing self-development and has recently completed an online Golf Psychology Diploma. She is hoping the insights from this will help her lead Team Norfolk to the England Golf County Finals.
Eve Neild – Junior County Captain
Eve has always been sporty, initially playing netball and korfball. She took up golf almost a decade ago because her sister was playing and it looked a fun activity.
Since then, she has had huge success, finishing as the top English girl and coming tied third in the R&A U16s Girls Championship. Selected for the England U16 team to play against Ireland, represented England at the Schools' International match against Wales and has been a member of the England Golf East Regional Squad for the past five years.
This talented golfer also won the Norfolk Junior Championship and is a member of the Norfolk Ladies 1st Team.
As a member of Royal Norwich Golf Club, Eve is also an ambassador for the England Golf Trust helping other young golfers to improve whilst studying for her A-Levels.
Eve is proud to be Junior County Captain, she said:
“I will be 18 soon so I will leave the junior section next year. I have had many enjoyable years playing golf and making great friends already and I’m looking forward to a great year.”
