The R&A has confirmed that Delamere Forest and Crail Golfing Society will host qualifying events for the 2024 AIG Women’s Open at St Andrews.

Pre-qualifying will be played over 18 holes at Delamere Forest in Cheshire on Sunday 28 July.

Final Qualifying will take place on Monday 19 August at Crail Golfing Society in Fife. After 18 holes over the Craighead Course, a minimum of three golfers will earn a place in the AIG Women’s Open being played from 21 – 25 August.

Delamere Forest

Delamere Forest, designed by Herbert Fowler, is a heathland course which features fast-running fairways with subtle yet challenging contouring and elevation changes. This will be the first time that the Cheshire course hosts Pre-qualifying for the AIG Women’s Open.

Crail Golfing Society

Also playing host to Final Qualifying for the first time is Crail Golfing Society. Designed by Gil Hanse, the Craighead Course is inspired by its clifftop environment and ancient medieval walls which creates a challenging and unique layout.

Zoe Ridgway, Championship Director – AIG Women’s Open at The R&A said, “We would like to thank Delamere Forest and Crail Golfing Society for hosting qualifying events for the AIG Women’s Open. They are outstanding courses which are sure to test the players as they look to earn their way into the field at St Andrews for the AIG Women’s Open.”
