Whether you’re chasing a better feel on the greens or struggling to hole out as consistently as you’d like, two new putters from Odyssey are worth a look this summer
Two new putter lines from Odyssey — one premium and limited edition, one built around a technology that’s been hard to adopt until now.
Damascus Milled: the premium option
The Damascus Milled range is Odyssey’s most premium putter line to date. The insert — the part of the face that strikes the ball — is made from Damascus Steel, a layered construction of multiple steel alloys that is forged, folded and pressed into shape. Each piece has its own distinct surface pattern as a result of the process, and the material is designed to give a more consistent, responsive feel at impact.
The heads are precision-milled from stainless steel and finished in blasted silver. Two versions of the Seven shape are available: the Double Bend, which is face-balanced and suited to players with a straighter putting stroke; and the Crank Hosel, which has moderate toe hang and suits players with a more arced stroke. All models come with a new Golf Pride rubber pistol grip and a counterbalanced steel shaft.
Available in five shapes: One, Two, Seven, Rossie, Jailbird Mini. UK RRP: £569.

S2S Tri-Hot SB: zero-torque without the look
Zero-torque putters are designed so the clubface returns to square at impact without the golfer having to work against the natural twist of a conventionally-shafted club. The problem is that most zero-torque designs use a centre shaft — which looks unusual at address and puts many players off.
The Tri-Hot SB is designed to solve that. By shifting the weight distribution forward through a combination of aluminium, steel and tungsten, Odyssey has been able to position the shaft toward the heel rather than the centre, giving it a more familiar look at address. The performance is still zero-torque; the setup is not.
The face insert uses a dual-layer urethane construction — soft on the outside, firmer underneath — to promote consistent ball speed and forward roll. A #7 Cruiser option comes standard at 38 inches for players who prefer a longer putter.
Available in four shapes: Rossie, Jailbird, #7 and #7 Cruiser. UK RRP: £499 (Rossie, Jailbird, #7) and £529 (#7 Cruiser).
