Women’s golf fashion has never offered more choice. So why is it still so hard to find something that fits, flatters and doesn’t cost a fortune? Angie Huddart is here to help.
Getting dressed for golf throws up the same problems for women, over and over. Sizing that runs small and never says so. Skorts that sit too short for comfort. Prices that make building a wardrobe feel like a luxury. Colours and cuts that work on a model and less well on a real body, on a real course, in real weather. How to layer without looking like you’ve come from a different sport.
These are the questions we hear from readers constantly, and they deserve better answers than a size guide and a returns policy. That’s why we’ve launched Ask Angie.
Angie Huddart runs a women’s clothing boutique in Doncaster and has been dressing women for years. She stocks golf wear alongside her wider fashion offer, plays herself, and brings the same experienced, independent eye to both. Each column she’ll take on one of the issues women golfers face most — fit, shape, price, what to wear and where to find it. Readers can write in with their own questions; some will become columns, some Angie will answer directly. Either way, the advice is honest and comes with no brand agenda.
Ask Angie will run a regular column on Women & Golf. Follow it for practical, independent advice on everything from sizing and shape to price and what’s actually worth buying. And if you have a question of your own — something you’ve been struggling to find an answer to — write to Angie at members@womenandgolf.com
Here, in her own words, is where she starts.

Finding Your Perfect Fit
We all know that golf is not a game of perfection, and nowhere is that more true than when it comes to finding the perfect fit in women’s golf wear.
I’m Angie Huddart, and I established my boutique business in Doncaster in 2019. Since then, I’ve had conversations with hundreds of women about their bodies, their confidence, how clothes fit their shape, and just how difficult it can be to find quality clothing that fits well and feels comfortable.
While my boutique keeps me away from the golf course more than I’d like, at 55 I’m still some way from retirement. In many ways, being a working woman myself has given me valuable insight into what women really want from their wardrobe. I want clothes that are stylish, practical, and versatile enough to work both on and off the course. Like many women today, I also need them to be affordable and fit within an increasingly stretched budget.
Having experienced first-hand the challenges of buying women’s golf clothing, particularly the limited opportunities to shop for it in person, I decided to take my biggest business risk to date and introduce women’s golf wear to the boutique. As both a woman and an experienced buyer of women’s clothing, I understand the challenges involved in finding the right fit.
Imagine asking someone to buy you a pair of jeans knowing only your dress size. Would they fit? Would the shape suit you? Would they be comfortable? Would they fit your budget? Buying golf wear can be exactly the same. There are countless brands, styles, and personal preferences to consider.
Years of helping women find clothing that makes them look and feel their best have given me a wealth of knowledge about what women want — and, just as importantly, what they don’t want. It’s those daily conversations with customers that stay with me when I attend buying appointments, whether for fashion or golf wear. I listen carefully, learn from their experiences, and use that knowledge to select pieces that not only meet their needs but also introduce them to new styles and ideas they may not have considered before.
My aim is simple: to use my experience in dressing women to help you overcome any challenges you face when choosing what to wear on the course. The right golf wear should offer comfort, fit, and confidence. And confidence is one of the most comfortable things you’ll ever wear. It can even have a positive impact on your performance.
Let me help you in your search for the perfect fit. Tell me what you’re struggling with and I’ll do my very best to find some options.
