Original Penguin has been associated with golf since 1955. The Spring 2026 women’s collection brings that history forward through contrast-piped polos, pleated skorts and a botanical print knit polo that is the standout piece of the range.
Here’s what the collection looks like — and what to know before you buy.
Original Penguin started in Minneapolis in 1955 — the brand’s claim to have introduced the first branded golf shirt to the American market is well-documented and part of how it positions everything it does now. Seventy-plus years on, it sits within Perry Ellis International and operates across men’s, women’s and children’s clothing.
The brand is familiar in the UK through its menswear, which makes the women’s golf range a natural extension rather than a new arrival. The collection is available directly through the brand’s own website, which ships to the UK with a first-order discount, as well as through retail stockists. The Spring 2026 collection sits at a mid-range price point and is available now.
The Colour Story
Navy and white is the foundation the collection is built on, and contrast piping — navy on white, white on black, navy on aqua — is the design device that runs through it consistently. The colour that gives the range its energy is a bright cerulean blue: bold enough to read well on the course, specific enough to give the collection a clear identity. Cornflower blue, bright green and cream/ivory round out the palette without complicating it. The exception to the clean colour-block approach is the tonal grey-navy botanical print polo: darker and more considered than the rest of the range, and the better for it. Pieces mix across the collection without effort — the palette has been planned that way.
Tops and Polos
The polo is the centre of gravity, and the range runs from sleeveless to short-sleeve across several colourways. The white contrast-piped sleeveless polo with navy trim and button placket is the piece that makes the brand’s heritage reference most explicit. It is a classic silhouette, done without overstatement.
The same piping logic runs through the black sleeveless polo with white contrast, and the cerulean short-sleeve with navy piping: the detail is consistent and gives the collection a visual coherence that not all ranges manage.
The botanical print short-sleeve polo — a tonal grey-navy floral on a knit construction, with tipped collar and cuffs — is the most considered piece in the range. It reads as course-appropriate without looking like standard golf clothing. Moisture-wicking stretch fabric runs through the tops range, with REPREVE® recycled yarns incorporated into key styles. For cooler mornings, the layering pieces extend what the polos start.
Bottoms
The skorts are pleated and sit at a relatively short cut — a standard golf skort length rather than anything extended. If you prefer more coverage, it is worth checking the product pages for exact measurements before ordering; the collection does not appear to offer longer options.
The navy pleated skort is the obvious pairing with the white contrast polo. The black skort with an aqua floral print is the more interesting option and pairs back to the cerulean tops for a matched look that stays the right side of coordinated. The aqua skort with a navy side stripe is the third colourway visible across campaign imagery. Wide-leg trousers in cream/ivory are also in the range and give a more relaxed alternative to skorts — the combination with the botanical print polo is the strongest full look in the collection.
Layers
The layering offer covers a navy gilet, visible across both campaign shots, and a zip-through knit option. Neither is built for serious weather protection — this is not the collection for a wet October morning. For a British summer round or a warm-weather trip, the gilet is a practical mid-layer choice and it works across the range without thought. The layering is functional without being the collection’s strongest point.

Accessories
Visors in navy and white carry the Original Penguin roundel logo and do the job without overstatement. The ‘Penguin 1955’ red trucker cap is the more lifestyle-facing piece — it works as well off the course as on it, and makes the heritage reference the most direct of anything in the range.
W&G VERDICT A well-priced, coherent collection for women who want a defined look on the course rather than generic golf kit. The contrast piping runs consistently through the range and the cerulean blue colour story is the most distinctive thing it has going for it. The botanical print polo is worth finding specifically — it is the one piece that does something the rest of the range doesn’t. The skorts run short, so check sizing if coverage matters; the layering is not built for cold or wet conditions. Best suited to summer rounds and warm-weather trips.
