The Dalaman Golf Club launches at a five-star Hilton resort — a new region enters Turkey’s golf map.
Turkey’s established golf heartland is Belek, near Antalya. This summer a second region joins the conversation.
The Dalaman Golf Club — the first course on the country’s southwest Dalaman Coast — opens under the management of the Hilton Dalaman Sarıgerme Resort & Golf, 20 minutes from Dalaman International Airport.
Course and Facilities
Designed by the International Design Group on natural sandy soil, the course measures 6,152 metres from the back tees with uninterrupted Mediterranean views throughout. The standout hole is the 15th, a par five with a 25-metre drop from the tee, a nature reserve down one side of the fairway and a lake on the other.
Practice facilities include a driving range, putting green and short game area, with a clubhouse and restaurant on site.
The attached Hilton resort has been operating since 2009 — 550 rooms across 74 acres, ultra-all-inclusive, with a 650-metre private beach, ten pools and an 18-room spa. Direct UK flights to Dalaman run throughout the summer season.
We’ll be covering the course properly once it opens and W&G readers have played it.
