Robyn Choi claims medalist honours

It was Australia's Robyn Choi who worked her way to the top of the leaderboard to claim medalist honours. After six rounds – cut down from the traditional eight – she led the field at 29-under par. The 25-year-old will be returning to the LPGA Tour for the first time since 2019.

Choi started the final day two shots off the lead, just behind So Mi Lee. With three pars in her first three holes, she picked up a birdie at her first par 5 before hitting another streak of pars.

Back-to-back birdies at holes 8, 9 and 10 saw the Aussie reach 29-under par; the score that would ultimately help her take the first-place position. Two bogeys, a string of pars and another two birdies on the back nine saw Choi card a final-round 68. It was her sixth round in a row in the 60s, making her the only player to do so at the 2023 LPGA Q-Series.

Six-time JLPGA champion, Mao Saigo from Japan carded a final-round 70 – her only round in the 70s this week. One under par at the turn, she headed into the back nine with a bogey on 10 before hitting a string of pars. Saigo made birdie on two of her last three holes to move back into red numbers for the day.

Finishing alongside Saigo in a tie for second place, So Mi Lee from the Republic of Korea was just one of two players to shoot over par in the last round and maintain a top-10 spot. The KLPGA winner had a bogey early in her round on the 2nd, but balanced it out with a birdie on the 4th to make the turn at even par. Her only bump in the road on the back nine came at the par-4 15th hole when she made a bogey before finishing with three pars to shoot one-over 73. Both Saigo and Lee will be 2024 LPGA Tour Rookies next season.
