Lydia Ko, who last week reclaimed her position as world number one, has been named in Time’s list of The 30 Most Influential Teens of 2015.

The New Zealander, who ascended to the top spot after sweeping aside the field at the Fubon LPGA Taiwan Championship, has been named alongside the likes of Malala Yousafzai and Kendall Jenner in Time’s list of The 30 Most Influential Teens of 2015.

The accolade demonstrates the impact made by the teenage sensation not only within the game but also within the world of sport as a whole.

At 17 Ko became the youngest golfer to secure the world number one spot, whilst in September of this year she achieved another record when she finished with back-to-back birdies on the final holes of the Evian Championship to become the youngest ever winner of a women’s major.

Ko’s nine-shot victory last week at the Fubon LPGA Taiwan Championship cemented her place as the dominant force in the women’s game, earning the 18-year old her 10th LPGA win.

The list is determined by accolades across numerous fields, global impact through social media and overall ability to drive news.
