South Korean Eun-Hee Ji made three birdies on the back nine to win the LPGA season-opening event, the Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions, by two clear shots.

In cold and windy conditions, Ji found herself drop down the leaderboard behind Lydia Ko after opening with two bogeys early in the round. Her lapse from the top was short-lived though, and she took the lead again with an impressive birdie at the 10th.

That was all the momentum Ji needed to maintain her lead until the end, and a further two birdies on the back saw her sign for a 1-under par score of 70, two shots clear of the rest of the field.

Whilst Ji made her surge, the opposite was happening for Lydia Ko.

Ko dropped one behind Ji after losing her ball off the tee on the par-5 13th and compounded the mistake with a three-putt for a double bogey. She closed her round with another double bogey at the last for a 42 on the back nine and a disappointing final round score of 77.

Ji finished the tournament at 14-under par, followed by Mirim Lee at 12-under who only made one bogey in her round of 68. Nelly Korda, who shot 71 in the final round, finished third at 11-under par.
