The qualifiers included Dorset's Hayley Davis who comfortably came through Stage II of qualifying, only a week after turning professional, to finish in 12th position.
“I did what I’ve needed to do so it’s so far so good at the moment,” Davies said. “I’m excited to see where things will go from here.”
Despite turning pro, Davies will head back to Baylor to finish up classes and work on her game before Stage III.
“I’m still in school so I’ll have to focus on my schoolwork a bit but I’m going to try and get my game in the best shape for Stage III,” Davies said.
Davis was not the only British player to make it through to the final stage which gets underway next month at the LPGA International, Daytona Beach, Florida. LET star Holly Clyburn finished T45 with 299 to comfortably make the 85 player cut, a score matched by Scot Kylie Walker. On what was a very successful week for the Scotish contingent Gemma Dryburgh (pictured below) qualified in T12 with scores of 72 72 75 74, whilst Sally Watson shrugged off a poor first round to complete the Scottish hat-trick and finish T-22. Meanwhile Amy Boulden from Conwy, Wales who has had a successful season on the Ladies European Tour, finished joint 62nd position with scores of 78, 71, 76 and 76 for 301.
The tournament was won by Nelly Korda from Brandenton, Florida who fired a final round 69 on the Bobcat Course to post 4-under for the week and finish a stoke clear of Grace Na.
The players will advance to the Final Stage of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament which will be held at LPGA International Golf Course – Jones & Hill Courses from Wednesday, December 2 through Sunday, December 6.
Players that finish in the top-20 at Final Stage will receive category 12 status on the priority list for the LPGA Tour while players that finish 21 through 45 will receive category 17 status (conditional).
