Charley Hull has topped the LET Solheim Cup Points list to lead the eight players who have automatically qualified for Europe’s 2026 Solheim Cup team, with Lottie Woad set to make her debut on home soil at Bernardus.
England’s Charley Hull has topped the LET Solheim Cup Points list with 264.18 points, securing her place in Europe’s team for Bernardus. Hull won twice during the Qualifying Period, including the PIF Saudi Ladies International, and added five further top-10 finishes.
It will be Hull’s eighth Solheim Cup appearance since her debut in 2013, in which time she has won 16.5 points from 27 matches.
“I can’t believe I’ve qualified for my eighth Solheim Cup,” Hull said. “I’m very proud to represent Team Europe again in front of the home fans in the Netherlands.”
Henseleit overtakes Tamburlini to seal second automatic spot
Germany’s Esther Henseleit clinched the second automatic spot with 134 points, overtaking Switzerland’s Chiara Tamburlini by just 0.9 points after a strong finish to the Qualifying Period. Henseleit finished outright fourth at the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open and was runner-up to Shiho Kuwaki at the AIG Women’s Open.
“I’m really happy to be part of the European Solheim Cup Team again,” Henseleit said. “It was a great experience last time out in the U.S., but I’m very excited to be in the team on European soil. With it being so close to Germany, I hope a lot of fans come out and watch.”
Woad set for home debut as six more qualify on world ranking
Six players secured their places via the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, led by England’s Lottie Woad. The 22-year-old will make her Solheim Cup debut in September having turned professional only a little over a year ago, already with LET and LPGA Tour wins to her name.
“I’m very excited to make my debut at the Solheim Cup,” Woad said. “For my first one to be on European soil is very special, and I’m really looking forward to having all the European fans there.”
Sweden’s Maja Stark and Linn Grant will make their third Solheim Cup appearances, having debuted together in 2023, while France’s Celine Boutier qualifies for a fifth time. Spain’s Carlota Ciganda has qualified for an eighth consecutive appearance, having played in every edition since 2013.
“I love the Solheim Cup,” Ciganda said. “It’s my favourite event, and I can’t wait to be back in European colours in front of the European fans. It’s an honour to make my eighth appearance, and I’m excited to be in the Netherlands in September.”
Denmark’s Nanna Koerstz Madsen completes the automatic eight, qualifying for a second Solheim Cup appearance having been part of the winning team in 2021. It will be her first on European soil.
“There is no bigger honour than representing Europe in the Solheim Cup, and I’m excited to make my second appearance for Team Europe,” Madsen said. “I love team golf, and it’s my first Solheim Cup on European soil, so I’m looking forward to seeing all the European fans. I’m excited to be at Bernardus in September.”
Nordqvist welcomes blend of youth and experience
Captain Anna Nordqvist said she was pleased with the balance of the automatic qualifiers ahead of naming her four captain’s picks.
“I am really excited about finalising the 2026 European Solheim Cup Team,” Nordqvist said. “It’s been an exciting Qualifying Period, and congratulations to the eight players who have automatically qualified. It’s great to have Lottie and a few more rookies making their Solheim Cup debuts this year. The young talent in European golf is strong, and they have been putting in great performances across the Qualifying Period. We also have so much experience on the team, and it will be great to balance the youth with experience. We’re excited to get to Bernardus in September.”
