World No 1 bids to become the first player since Inbee Park to win three majors in a season as the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship gets under way at Hazeltine with a record $13 million purse
Nelly Korda tees it up at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Hazeltine National Golf Club on Thursday with the chance to make history — and with a record prize fund on the line.
The world No 1 has won the season’s first two majors, taking the Chevron Championship by five shots in April and following it up with a one-shot victory at the US Women’s Open at Riviera earlier this month. A third successive major would make her the first player to win three in a row to start a season since Inbee Park in 2013.
Record purse
The 2026 championship carries a purse of $13 million — the highest in the history of women’s golf, surpassing the $12.5 million on offer at last month’s US Women’s Open. The winner will take home $1.95 million. It is the ninth consecutive year the purse has increased, up from $3.5 million as recently as 2017.
The field

All of the top 100 players in the Race to CME Globe rankings are in the 156-strong field at Hazeltine. Defending champion Minjee Lee is among 12 past winners in the draw, alongside Amy Yang, Ruoning Yin, In Gee Chun, Sei Young Kim, Hannah Green, Brooke Henderson and Danielle Kang.
The Rolex Rankings top five — Korda, Jeeno Thitikul, Hyo Joo Kim, Charley Hull and Lottie Woad — are all present, along with Lydia Ko, Jennifer Kupcho and Celine Boutier.
Hazeltine hosted the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in 2019, when Hannah Green claimed the title by a single stroke. Green is back in the field and has already won twice on the LPGA Tour this season.
