Set up differently to every other shot
Widen your stance, lean 60% of your weight onto your lead leg, push your rear out, and hold your hands a little lower to encourage the club to bounce through the sand.
Aim an inch behind the ball, not at it
Draw a mental line about an inch behind the ball and focus on hitting that spot throughout your swing — the sand will do the work of moving the ball out.
Hinge your wrists early and follow through
Hinge the wrists quickly on the backswing and commit to a full follow-through, because keeping the sand moving is what gets the ball onto the green.
