Women & Golf Member Sue Scott reviews the Röhnisch Insulate Trousers

Review by Sue Scott - Tyneside Golf Club

I have had the privilege of reviewing the Röhnisch Insulate Trousers.

I have been playing golf now for 13 years and I am fortunate enough to play in the North East of England. So, I think even this early on in the season I am well placed to review these trousers and as I like to play golf at every opportunity I play in most climates.

Initial Thoughts

On receipt of the trousers my first impressions were they are a very smart trouser and felt very light weight despite the description and I did wonder if they would be sufficient for our northern climate.

The Test

I have had the opportunity to test these trousers four times over the past three weeks, with temperatures from as low as 2 degrees in early frost conditions and up to 10 degrees with la little sun and a cool breeze. I can say they have not only been very comfortable, but have kept me warm even on the coldest and windiest days.

On receipt of the trousers I already knew they would be too long in the leg, however they are super easy to take up. As mentioned earlier, although they are insulated they are not in the least bit bulky allowing for easy movement.

I’m a petite UK size 10 (EU 38) and with the exception of the leg length they are a perfect and comfortable fit.

The Verdict

The quality and workmanship feels and looks high quality and even after the few times I have worn them I can see these lasting for many years to come. They have been washed at 30 degrees and have come out great without the need to iron them.

The trousers have nice size belt loops, the pockets are well placed and easy to use including a small pocket within the right hand pocket ideal for a ball marker.

The trousers come with a clip and ball marker, which is a great idea, however the ball marker has a tendency of popping off it you press up against it. I do like that the clip is removable, good for in the washing machine. It might be better as a strong magnetic rather that a press stud button.

The fabric is so lovely and lightweight you are not restricted with movement, the zipper nice and flat and buttons are great quality and securely fitted.

I have been letting all my fellow lady golfing friends know how good they are. Feedback to date is good but they are a little pricey.

The Röhnisch Insulate Trousers are available in three colours - Navy, Black, Nougat, sizes XS-XXL and leg length 30" & 32". Check the Röhnisch website, usual UK online stores or why not ask your local professional if they can source for you.
