W&G is proud to be associated with the Lady Captain of the Year Award, run in conjunction with Daily Sports and Surprizeshop.
The 2014 winner is Gilly Stimpson from Hazlemere Golf Club in Buckinghamshire. Gilly was nominated by Linda Poore, who described her as a great motivator and in particular a fabulous organiser. Clearly well-liked and supported by all the lady members, Gilly kindly stepped in at short notice to be Lady Captain this year, a role she previously held in 2011/12.
Gilly said: “I was delighted to serve the ladies again and so appreciative that they took the time to nominate me. The award is an absolute honour and I proudly displayed my certificate at our AGM when my year came to an end!”
