COBRA reveals new DARKSPEED collection

The all-new DARKSPEED drivers, fairways and hybrids have been designed with advanced technologies, space-grade materials, and the expertise of aerospace engineers.

DARKSPEED^TM Drivers: Out of this world speed

The DARKSPEED drivers feature groundbreaking aerodynamic shaping, a re-engineered PWR-BRIDGE™, and advanced A.I. designed PWRSHELL™ H.O.T. Face™ in three models – DARKSPEED LS, DARKSPEED X, and DARKSPEED MAX. 

Each of the DARKSPEED drivers have been uniquely designed to optimise performance for the target player they’re designed for.

• The DARKSPEED LS is aimed at the fastest swingers who need lower spin and more shot shaping control. Within the LS family, COBRA also offers an 8-degree model, which is an evolution of a long drive prototype head used by Kyle Berkshire. The 8-degree model features a visibly smaller and even more aerodynamic head shape, promising extreme speed for the most powerful players.

• The DARKSPEED X is aimed at the widest range of players, offering a combination of exceptional ball speed and forgiveness.

• The DARKSPEED MAX model, also available in a women’s edition, has the highest MOI of the three models and is aimed at players who require the most forgiveness and/or a draw bias.

In all three drivers, the adjustable weight system allows golfers to fine-tune their driver for forgiveness, launch angle, and spin. The ADVANCED AERO SHAPING reduces drag for faster speed. And the A.I. designed PWR-BRIDGE Weighting and PWRSHELL face insert with A.I. designed H.O.T. Face Technology maximise ball speed efficiency and smash factor.

The new DARKSPEED driver family also feature COBRA’S MyFly® 8 with SmartPad® technology. That allows for exceptionally quick and easy loft and lie adjustability to help you maintains a consistent face angle and ensure a square clubhead at address.

DARKSPEED Fairways and Hybrids

Complementing the innovative line of DARKSPEED drivers is a full lineup of fairway metals.

Using the same PWR-BRIDGE weighting, PWRSHELL with H.O.T. FACE, and carbon fiber crown technologies as the DARKSPEED drivers, the new fairway metals are also available in three models to fit the full spectrum of golfers.

• The DARKSPEED LS Fairway is designed for players with faster swing speeds. It features an adjustable weight system, as well as a space-grade Titanium body and Titanium PWRSHELL H.O.T. FACEinsert for maximum ball speed and distance.
• The DARKSPEED X Fairway is for players looking for a balance of easy launch, forgiveness, and distance. PWR-BRIDGE and PWRSHELL H.O.T. FACE Technology provide faster ball speed through a low, forward centre of gravity location.
• The DARKSPEED MAX Fairway, also available in a women’s model, is the most forgiving in the lineup and is designed for players that desire a high, draw-biased ball flight. Like the MAX driver, the fairway metal features an adjustable weight system and  PWR-BRIDGE weighting and PWRSHELL H.O.T. FACE Technology to deliver the fastest ball speed possible.

DARKSPEED^TM Irons

The new DARKSPEED^TM Irons are designed to provide the ultimate combination of speed, distance, and feel. The new irons feature an all-new hollow body construction filled with feel enhancing foam, as well as re-engineered PWR-BRIDGE™ and PWRSHELL™ technologies to create COBRA’s longest, best feeling game-improvement iron to date.

Taking cues from metalwood designs, a new hollow body construction creates a thinner and more responsive clubhead structure that unlocks up to 25% more face flection for faster ball speeds and longer distance. To achieve enhanced sound and feel, the hollow body of the new DARKSPEED irons is injected with foam microspheres, which expand to fill the internal cavity. Once injected the foam supports the PWR-BRIDGE weight while also providing vibration-dampening properties for a soft feel and pleasing sound.

And for optimised performance through the set, the DARKSPEED irons feature a progressive TECFLO™ construction. That transitions from a full hollow design with PWR-BRIDGE and PWRSHELL in the 4-7 irons, to full hollow body with no face insert in the 8-PW, to a half hollow design in the GW-SW.

The newDARKSPEED Irons are available in both Variable and ONE Length options, allowing players to choose between a traditional setup or a ONE Length configuration.

The Variable Length irons are available in a 4-PW set composition or 5-GW (RRP: £849), as well as a graphite set composing of 5-GW (RRP: £949). 

ONE Length irons offer the same distance enhancing technologies as the variable length irons as well as added consistency and accuracy due to the ONE Length setup. Each iron is built to 7-iron length (37.25”) to encourage a repeatable setup and swing. To ensure that the long irons perform optimally at a shorter length, the ONE Length DARKSPEED irons feature wider soles and slightly weaker lofts in the 4-6 irons to promote higher trajectory shots. Available in custom-only across steel (RRP from £849).
