Casandra Alexander shrugged off a nervy start on Sunday to complete a wire-to-wire victory at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open, beating Sara Kouskova by three shots at The K Club for her second LET title. Casandra Alexander finally turned a season of near-misses into silverware, closing out a wire-to-wire victory at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open for her second LET title.

The South African, who leads the Order of Merit, had finished runner-up five times in 2026 without adding to the win she picked up at last year’s Tipsport Czech Ladies Open.

“I’m really, really pumped,” Alexander said. “This one’s really special. One, it’s a special event. Two, I almost feel as if the second win is just as important as the first one and it proves it’s not a fluke. I’m glad I could get that done. It’s also Doug’s [my caddie’s] first win on the bag so I’m really chuffed about that.”

Alexander built her cushion with rounds of 63, 66 and 69 across the first three days on the Palmer South Course, the opening 63 a course record, and carried a three-shot lead into the final round.

Kouskova Could Not Find A Way Past

Sara Kouskova gave Alexander her sternest test, closing with four back-nine birdies for a final round of 70 to finish solo second on 17-under. It capped a strong month for the Czech, who also finished T12 at the AIG Women’s Open and 16th at the PIF London Championship.

“It was such a great week,” Kouskova said. “I love coming back to Ireland and putting together a good score here was phenomenal. You have the fans cheering and it’s incredible. I can see all the shots I left out there but Casandra is a phenomenal player. She deserved this win for sure.”

Maguire Gave The Home Crowd Plenty To Cheer

Leona Maguire provided the home interest, following Saturday’s course-record-equalling 63 with a final-round 68 to finish T4 on 15-under alongside Sweden’s Louise Rydqvist, who picked up her best result on the LET.

Noora Komulainen also produced a battling display in third, firing a final round of 67 despite playing through illness, though a bogey on her closing hole — after finding the water with her third shot — denied her a share of second.

Alexander Steadied The Ship To Close It Out

Alexander’s final round did not start smoothly. Bogeys at her first two holes let playing partner Kajsa Arwefjall close to within one shot, before three consecutive birdies at the 5th, 6th and 7th restored her cushion. A further birdie at the 10th was followed by a dropped shot at the 12th, and a 30-minute storm suspension interrupted play before Alexander rolled in another birdie at the 15th to effectively settle the outcome, parring the remaining holes for the win.

“Golf is a really tough game,” Alexander said. “When you get into the final group on the final day, something takes over. You either have it or you don’t. I got off to a rocky start, had a couple uncomfortable lies — those are the types of situations you get nervy on. But we steadied the ship with three birdies in a row.”

“I knew I was going to make the putt after the restart. I said to Doug this is a big moment because it’s a bit of a momentum switch. I knew Sara had hit it close so I knew she’d make that and I would need to make mine. You need a little bit of luck to win golf tournaments and I had that today.”

What Next
Next up for the stars of the LET is a trip to Spain for the La Sella Open which gets underway on September 17. Before that, Maguire and Team Europe head to Bernardus Golf for the 2026 Solheim Cup.
