Angela Stanford has confirmed her three wildcard selections, with Lindy Duncan set for a debut at 35 and two-time major winner Rose Zhang returning after a dominant 2024.

Captain Angela Stanford has named Lindy Duncan, Megan Khang and Rose Zhang as her three picks to complete the US Solheim Cup team, with the squad now finalised two weeks before the match gets under way at Bernardus in the Netherlands.

The selections follow the end of the qualification period after the CPKC Women’s Open, with seven players progressing automatically via the US points standings and two more via the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.

Duncan handed rookie debut at 35

Duncan becomes the second rookie on the team alongside Auston Kim, and at 35 is both the oldest player selected and the oldest Solheim Cup debutante since Nancy Scranton in 2000.

She had held the second automatic qualifying spot via the world rankings for close to two months before slipping out of position after the Standard Portland Classic. She has recorded 14 top-25 finishes over the past two seasons, including a tie for seventh at this year’s HSBC Women’s World Championship.

Khang will make her fifth Solheim Cup appearance, having played every edition since 2019. She carries a 7-3-3 record from 13 matches and is unbeaten in her last eight, a run stretching back to her 2021 singles win over Sophia Popov at Inverness.

Zhang returns for a third straight appearance after going unbeaten in all four of her matches in 2024. She has six top-25 finishes so far this year, including a tie for eighth at the Standard Portland Classic a fortnight ago.

They join Nelly Korda, Angel Yin, Jennifer Kupcho, Yealimi Noh, Auston Kim, Lauren Coughlin and Allisen Corpuz, who qualified via points, and Andrea Lee and Alison Lee, who qualified via world ranking, to complete the 12-strong squad heading to the Netherlands for the 20th Solheim Cup.
