The spikeless shoe comes in laced and BOA fastening options, with prices starting at $160/€160.
Adidas has launched the CodeChaos 27, the latest version of its spikeless golf shoe, available in laced and BOA fastening options for men, women and juniors.
The shoe is built around a new heel component called AxisLock, designed to add stability through the swing without making the shoe feel stiff. It sits inside a full-length Boost midsole, the cushioning system adidas uses across its running and golf ranges, and pairs with a waterproof two-layer upper.
Updated grip
The spikeless outsole has also been reworked: on the BOA version, adidas says coverage is up 120% on the previous model, with four lug shapes designed for grip in both wet and dry conditions. The laced version uses the new outsole across the forefoot only, combined with a rubber outsole through the rest of the shoe.
The BOA model swaps laces for a dial-and-wire fastening system that wraps across the top of the foot, hidden under a zip-up shroud in the same waterproof material as the rest of the upper.
Price and availability
The laced CodeChaos 27 is priced at $160/€160, with the BOA version at $200/€180. Both are available now at adidas.com, on the adidas app and at select retailers, alongside a junior version.
The W&G Verdict
The cobalt-blue and orange colourways really stand out – this is one for golfers who like their shoes to have some personality. The tech underneath is serious enough that the colour is a bonus!
