Drop the trail hip at addressBefore you do anything else in your setup, physically push your trail hip (right hip for right-handers) down by about an inch — this automatically tilts your spine, lowers your trail shoulder, and sets you up to swing up through the ball rather than down on it.
Get your ball position rightPosition the ball just inside your front heel — not too far forward — to keep your swing path neutral and avoid the reaching and over-extension that leads to poor contact.
Keep the trail hip low throughout the backswingAs you swing back, focus on maintaining that lowered trail hip rather than letting it rise, which helps shallow the club, keep it behind you, and build genuine power through impact.
