City-center course in Cyprus pairs with luxury resort to offer new winter golf getaways for active travellers.
A new 18-hole championship golf course has opened in Limassol, Cyprus, adding to the island’s credentials as an all year round golf destination.
Limassol Greens, designed by golf course architect Cabell B. Robinson, is a par-71 layout measuring 6,304 metres. The course sits within a wider lifestyle and residential development and is the only golf resort in Cyprus located within a city, with Limassol Marina, Lady’s Mile Beach and the city centre all nearby.
How it plays
The design varies in character throughout the round. The opening five holes are exposed to prevailing wind, requiring accuracy from the tee. The middle section from the 6th to 11th offers more scoring opportunities as the wind shifts, while the 13th to 15th demand precise shot-making. The closing stretch is the toughest — a wind-into par-5 at the 16th, a precision par-3 at the 17th, and an 18th that plays around a natural lake to a narrow green.
The Resort Partnership
The course has entered a partnership with the adjacent five-star City of Dreams Mediterranean resort, which includes a casino, pool complex, and the Marcos Baghdatis Tennis Academy. Golf packages start from €1,515 per person for four nights half board including drinks and three rounds of golf.
