Ajman, United Arab Emirates – May 9, 2025
Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club in Ajman has introduced a new all-female caddie initiative, a first-of-its-kind move in the region aimed at enriching the player experience while promoting greater diversity in golf.
Eight Women Join Pilot Program
As part of a pilot scheme, eight women caddies have joined the team at Al Zorah. They will support play on the club’s signature Nicklaus Design 18-hole course, which winds through natural mangroves and lakes, as well as at the newly opened clubhouse and practice facilities. Each caddie comes with experience from other high-level golf venues and is now undergoing an in-depth orientation led by the club’s golf and course management team.
“By offering guests the chance to play with experienced caddies who know the nuances of Nicklaus Design’s wonderful course inside out, we’re enhancing our on-course service and introducing a fresh, meaningful dynamic to the game,” said Phil Henderson, General Manager of Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club.
Enhancing the Player Experience
According to the club, the program reflects a broader commitment to offering high-quality, personalized service and creating a more inclusive golfing environment. Henderson emphasized that the initiative is part of a wider vision “to deliver excellence, diversify the player journey and open the door for more people to enjoy golf in a supportive and innovative environment.”
Part of Broader Investments at Al Zorah
The launch comes on the heels of several new investments at Al Zorah. Earlier this spring, the club unveiled its new clubhouse, which features three dining venues, a fitness center, two outdoor pools, retail areas, changing facilities, and a rooftop bar with panoramic views.
Al Zorah also continues to grow its reputation in the regional golf scene. The club recently hosted a HotelPlanner Tour event and will welcome the Clutch Pro Tour back later this year. It also retained its Gold Flag status at the 59club Middle East & Africa Service Excellence Awards.
