AIG Women's Open - Come and watch the biggest women's golf event in the UK featuring a new Festival Fan Village with Ellie Goulding headlining

It’s just 100 days to go until the world’s best golfers come to Walton Heath for the first time for the AIG Women’s Open this August.

Walton Heath in Surrey is no stranger to hosting prestigious golf events having previously held the Ryder Cup, British Masters and Senior Open presented by Rolex.

After a historic moment at Muirfield last summer, where the AIG Women’s Open was able to go ahead without any restrictions. This year has the potential to be the biggest year yet with a location just outside of London.

As well as a world class field, there will also be enhancements to the fan experience at this year’s Championship.

If you haven’t already purchased your AIG Women’s Open tickets, here are four reasons why you should.

The field

There’s no doubt that as one of the five women’s majors, the event boasts the strongest field of players that you will be able to watch on British soil all year.

Last year’s AIG Women’s Open had 144 players from 29 countries, with 29 Major champions and worldwide winners of more than 400 titles on the LPGA, JLPGA and Ladies European Tour.

The reigning AIG Women’s Open champion Ashleigh Buhai will be back to defend her title, after winning her first Major following a thrilling four-hole play-off as the sun set over Muirfield.

Another first time Major winner Lilia Vu will be making her second appearance at the AIG Women’s Open. The 2023 Chevron Championship champion, who also won the Honda LPGA Thailand in February, will have her sights set on another Major trophy.

Current World Number one Nelly Korda is back to full fitness and with a game that is very suited to the Walton Heath fairways, we’re sure she’ll be high up the leaderboard come Sunday afternoon.

Location

Walton Heath is located south of London and can easily be accessed by car, via junction 8 or 9 of the M25. The nearest train station is Kingswood which is just over two miles from the golf club, with direct trains from London Bridge that take just 50 minutes.
