The ‘UK Women’s Golf Community’ aims to provide the opportunity for female golfers to connect across the country

The newly formed Facebook group – UK Women’s Golf Community (UK WGC) – has been designed to bring female golfers together via local meetups at golfing venues across the UK in a fun and sociable environment. Giving them the opportunity to meet like-minded women in their areas and help them improve their golf.

Founder of UK WGC, The Jazzy Golfer, said:

“I started playing golf a few years ago and I found it really difficult to find other women to play golf with and I hear from so many other women online and in person that it can be a real struggle. As golf has had a massive surge of women playing in the pandemic, now seemed like the perfect time to address this issue. I hope this community can bring women together in our sport, introduce new people to our sport and keep women playing our sport!”

A group with these ambitions needs a team effort, so The Jazzy Golfer has joined forces with female PGA Professionals, other influencers and women who work within the golf industry. In the build-up to the launch Women & Golf were able to offer advice and see the dedication from the whole group bringing this community to launch.

UK Women's Golf Community pilot event success

Swindon-based golfer Carly Cox helped to set up a pilot scheme at Basset Down towards the end of 2021 and the regular Wednesday meetups have proved a huge success. Carly commented:

“By the second meetup, due to word of mouth and some posts on social media, we ended up with 20 women and girls. The range was full!”

Since the pilot, The Jazzy Golfer has worked with the UK WGC team to organise the first meetups of 2022. The meetups will start in February in Swindon, Newcastle, Salisbury, Rugby, Coventry, Bedford, Bristol, Leicester, Essex and London.

Once accepted into the UK WGC Facebook group, members will be able to find out more about this first wave of UK WGC meetups which will be hosted by the group’s Hub Heroes.
