Five international events across three continents offer one of the richest prize funds outside the majors
A major new chapter is unfolding in women’s professional golf with the launch of the PIF Global Series, a five-event initiative supported by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) in partnership with Golf Saudi. Spanning three continents, the series strengthens PIF’s growing role in advancing women’s sport worldwide.
The PIF Global Series will be contested on the Ladies European Tour (LET) and features a combined prize fund of $13 million—making it one of the most lucrative circuits in women’s golf outside the major championships. Four of the five events offer $2 million each in prize money, while the PIF Saudi Ladies International raises the bar with a $5 million purse.
Each tournament in the series combines both individual and team play formats, adding a fresh dynamic to the women’s game.

Growing the Game, Globally and Locally
Alanoud Althonayan, Head of Events and Sponsorships at PIF, emphasized the fund’s broader ambitions:
“PIF continues to be a catalyst for the growth of women’s sports. The expansion of our Golf Saudi partnership with PIF as the title partner of this global series underscores our commitment to empowering female athletes at every level.”
Noah Alireza, CEO of Golf Saudi, pointed to the local impact in Saudi Arabia:
“We’ve seen tremendous interest through programs like our free ‘GoGolf’ lessons, which have drawn over 6,000 participants. This partnership allows us to link that local enthusiasm with global momentum for the women’s game.”
Tour Players Welcome the Expansion
The LET has embraced the initiative, with CEO Alexandra Armas saying:
“These tournaments are well-supported by our members. This partnership with PIF enhances the competitive environment and provides world-class opportunities for our players.”
England’s Charley Hull, a Golf Saudi ambassador, also praised the move:
“The new PIF Global Series is another huge moment for the LET. Golf Saudi and PIF have proven to be real game changers for women’s golf—raising the bar and creating equal opportunities. I’m excited to compete and inspire the next generation of players.”
