We’ve been writing about women’s golf for thirty years. In that time one thing hasn’t changed — the best judge of whether a golf glove fits, a waterproof jacket performs, or a trolley handles a hilly course is a woman who actually plays the game.
That’s the thinking behind Tried & Tested, the Women & Golf independent reviewer programme. We’re building a panel of women golfers across the UK to test, wear, play with and report back on the products that matter to you. No fluff. No paid placements. Just honest verdicts from women who know their game.
What is Tried & Tested?
Tried & Tested is our independent reviewer programme. Brands send us products — apparel, footwear, equipment, bags, trolleys, accessories and more — and we send them to women on our panel who are the right fit for that product. You test it properly, on the course and in real conditions, and you tell us what you honestly think.
Your verdict contributes to a published review on Women & Golf, building a body of opinion that other women golfers can trust when they’re making buying decisions.
This isn’t influencer culture. You won’t be asked to post on your own channels or promote anything. Your job is simply to give an honest, informed opinion.
What’s in it for you?
You get your hands on products as they launch — apparel, footwear, equipment and more — and you get to influence what other women golfers buy. Your verdict matters. It goes into a published review on Women & Golf that real women read when they’re deciding where to spend their money.
Some products you’ll return after testing. Others you’ll get to keep. We’ll always be clear about which is which when we brief you.
What categories can I review?
We’re launching with products across the following categories:
- Apparel and footwear
- Equipment and clubs
- Bags and trolleys
- Accessories and tech
And that’s just the start. Later in 2026 we’ll be extending the programme to include course reviews and travel — so if rating a resort or a course is more your thing, there’ll be an opportunity for that too.
Who are we looking for?
Women golfers of all levels, all ages, all backgrounds. We want beginners who’ve just found the game and single-figure players who’ve played for decades. We want club members and pay-and-play golfers. We want women who care about fit, performance and value — and who can articulate why something works or doesn’t.
You don’t need to be a writer. You don’t need a social media following. You just need to play golf and have an opinion.

How does it work?
When you sign up you’ll tell us a bit about yourself — your golf level, your sizes, the categories you’re most interested in. When we have a product that’s a good match for you we’ll contact you directly by email. You’ll have the chance to confirm you’re available and able to test, and if selected the product will be sent to you with a clear brief.
You test it properly — on the course, in real conditions, over a realistic period of time — then submit your verdict using our reviewer template. The product is returned to the manufacturer when the review is complete.
Simple as that.
