Cumbria’s Kirkby Lonsdale Golf Club has introduced a new coaching programme under the leadership of new Head Teaching Professional Ellie Broome, aiming to attract golfers of all ages and experience levels.
The new coaching programme, part of Ellie’s EJB Golf Academy, is designed to guide players from their first lessons through to playing a full round with confidence. The academy offers:
- Beginner introductions for new golfers
- Steps towards 18-hole course readiness for advanced players
- Group sessions and individual lessons for members and non-members
Families can join beginner sessions together, and there are tailored sessions for ladies and seniors. For younger golfers, a revamped junior academy will provide weekly group practice, individual coaching, and holiday camps for ages 4 to 18.
Technology and Facilities

Kirkby Lonsdale’s pro shop has been refurbished and now features a Trackman system. This technology provides detailed feedback after every shot and allows players to experience virtual golf courses, making practice fun and effective for everyone.
The club’s facilities include a swing room, short game area, and a driving range—resources that support all aspects of learning and practising golf.
Ellie Broome’s Return

She is a qualified PGA Professional and has impressive credentials, including being the club’s first female Junior Captain and Ladies Club Champion.
