The Scot finishes one under par at Luffness New to hold both national girls’ titles simultaneously — a feat last achieved by Hannah Darling in 2019.
Carly McDonald won the 2026 Scottish Girls’ Open Championship at Luffness New Golf Course on Saturday, finishing at one under par for the week to complete a rare double alongside her existing Scottish Girls’ Amateur title.
The 14 year old’s rounds of 73, 68 and 74 saw her edge out a tightly contested final day that featured late surges from Hong Kong’s Sabrina Wong and Norway’s Ella Ingebretsen. Wales Golf’s Morgan Bollan, who had led through much of the final round, narrowly missed out.
The Scot becomes the first player to hold both titles simultaneously since Hannah Darling — now on the Ladies European Tour — achieved it in 2019.
“Hannah Darling is someone I really look up to,” McDonald said. “Watching her on the LET — it’s where I want to go in the future.”
New course record
Her decisive second round, a four-under 68, set a new course record at Luffness New, bettering the 69 posted by Stella Walters on day one. Golf Ireland’s Emma Vinarcik produced the lowest round of the week with a five-under 67 on the Thursday, despite gusts of up to 35mph that tested the afternoon field severely.

The 144-player field included competitors from 12 countries, with strong showings from Germany, France, Norway, Thailand and Hong Kong alongside the home nations. England’s Arianna Virik and Imogen Hall were among those who impressed, with Abigail May and Hannah Ounap also representing the Scottish national setup.
Ounap joined McDonald and Bollan in the final group on Friday, and the trio kept the leaderboard tight before McDonald’s consistency proved decisive.
The 2027 Championship moves to Lundin Links Golf Club, 7–9 April.
