Atthaya Thitikul has been named the 2025 Rolex Player of the Year and Vare Trophy winner, following a standout season on the LPGA Tour. The awards were confirmed after the CME Group Tour Championship.
Thitikul becomes only the second Thai player to be named Player of the Year, following Ariya Jutanugarn. She also matched Lydia Ko in securing both Player of the Year and Vare Trophy honours in the same season—an accomplishment achieved by only a few in the tour’s history.
Record-Breaking Performances
Thitikul’s consistency defined her season. In 20 LPGA events, she finished in the top 10 an impressive 14 times and notched multiple wins, including at the Mizuho Americas Open and Buick LPGA Shanghai.
Her season-long scoring average of 68.681 set a new LPGA record, surpassing the previous mark set by Annika Sorenstam in 2002, and making Thitikul only the third player to record a sub-69 season average.
At just 22 years old, she has already won seven LPGA tournaments. Her five major tour awards include the 2022 Rookie of the Year and the 2024 Aon Risk Reward Challenge.
Additional Career Highlights
Thitikul has excelled globally, representing Thailand in team events such as the Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown and at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She also set a new single-season earnings record in 2024, amassing $6,059,309.
On the Ladies European Tour, Thitikul won four titles and, in 2021, became both the youngest Order of Merit winner and a Rookie of the Year honouree.
What These Awards Represent
The Rolex Player of the Year award recognises exceptional performance across the season, while the Vare Trophy honours the lowest season scoring average on tour.
Thitikul’s achievements mark her as one of the most consistent and promising players, inspiring more women golfers worldwide.
