A redesigned website, a live player tracker and a personality quiz are among the changes as the Championship marks its 50th year at Royal Lytham & St Annes.
The R&A has introduced a set of new digital features for the AIG Women’s Open, giving fans fresh ways to follow the world’s best players during the Championship’s 50th edition at Royal Lytham & St Annes.

New ways to follow the players
The headline addition is “Find Your Player,” a quiz that matches fans with a competitor based on personality and interests, then prompts them to track that player’s week through the mobile app. The app itself has gained a Player Locator, showing exactly where each competitor is on the course in real time, useful whether watching from the grandstands or from home. A new vertical video format has also been added, built for mobile viewing.
The Championship website, AIGwomensopen.com, has been rebuilt for speed and mobile use, with quicker access to live scoring and news, plus a new weather integration and personalised broadcast information to help fans find where to watch wherever they are in the world.
More live coverage than ever
The digital changes sit alongside the biggest broadcast expansion in the event’s history. A new early window on Thursday and Friday adds three extra hours of live coverage each day, taking the week’s total broadcast hours up 20% on 2025 — more linear TV coverage than any other women’s major. Coverage runs across 19 international broadcast partners, including Sky Sports in the UK and NBC in the US.
