The 50th AIG Women’s Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes will offer a record $10 million purse and 34 hours of live broadcast across four days — more linear TV than any other women’s golf major in the UK and US.
The AIG Women’s Open has confirmed a $10 million prize fund for this summer’s 50th edition at Royal Lytham & St Annes, marking the sixth consecutive year of prize fund growth since AIG’s partnership with The R&A began in 2019. The purse has more than trebled in that time.
To put that in context: when Jenny Lee Smith won the inaugural championship in 1976, the total prize fund was £500. Georgia Hall’s victory at Royal Lytham in 2018 — the year before AIG came on board — came with a purse of $3.25 million. By 2026, that figure has more than trebled.
34 hours of live coverage
Broadcast coverage expands significantly this year, with a new early window on Thursday and Friday giving viewers three additional hours of live golf each morning. Early coverage runs from 9am to 1pm BST, with the main window following from 1pm to 7pm — picking up the marquee morning groups before switching to the best of the afternoon action.
Weekend coverage runs from 12pm to 7pm BST on Saturday and Sunday. The total across all four rounds is 34 hours of live broadcast — a 20% increase on 2025 and more linear television hours in the UK and US than any other women’s golf championship.
Where to watch
UK viewers can watch live and in full on Sky Sports and R&A TV. In the US, coverage is split across Golf Channel, USA Network and NBC. International coverage includes JTBC in South Korea, JGN and U-Next in Japan, and VGolf across Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway.
The championship takes place 29 July to 2 August.
