Start line is everything
Place a tee in the ground and aim to hit it three times in a row — if your ball misses the tee, your putter face is telling you exactly where it’s pointing at impact.
Think pendulum, not power
Rather than focusing on how hard or soft you hit a putt, train yourself to think about how big or small your pendulum swing is — this is what controls distance consistently.
Land it within tap-in range
For distance control practice, aim to finish every putt at the tee or no more than 12 to 15 inches past it — getting the ball to the hole gives it a chance to drop.
