Eyes over the ball
Position your eyes directly over the golf ball at address — this also places them over your target line, making it much easier to stroke the putter straight back and straight through.
Use a pendulum stroke
Drive the stroke from your shoulders, not your hands — right shoulder up, left shoulder down — keeping your lower body still for a consistent, repeatable motion.
Match backswing to distance
As a guide for distance control, take the putter back one inch for every foot the ball needs to travel, so a three-foot putt needs just three inches of backswing.
