Use your hybrid for longer bump-and-runs
Stand closer than feels natural, lift the heel off the ground, and use a putting stroke — the hybrid generates more roll than most players expect, making it ideal when you have plenty of green to work with.
Match your club to the distance
Pace out the gap between your ball and the hole — around 10 paces calls for a pitching wedge, while 20 paces suits a seven iron — and apply the same BLT setup (ball back, lean left, tick-tuck) with each club.
Practise with the towel drill
Place a towel as a target landing spot and focus on getting the ball to land just short of it before rolling out, helping you calibrate how far each club carries and rolls with a putting-length stroke.
