Wow! First time at Silloth in April when all the courses near me were suffering from the wet weather we’ve had throughout March. Silloth was in fantastic condition. Fairways were amazing and the greens were spectacular.
Silloth is not an easy course. It is quite long for an average golfer with a par of 75 and 7 par 5’s but I would say it’s a good test. There are a few blind shots and not having played it before, it was a bit hit and hope but when I play it again, which I definitely will, I will know where to play the ball. The views are amazing! I was lucky to play on a beautiful sunny day with light winds which I understand from members I spoke to is quite rare!
The clubhouse is lovely. The ladies locker room is bright and modern and the bar area was really nice too. Unfortunately there was no catering on a Monday so I can’t comment on the food, although I understand from members that the food available is lovely.
To conclude, this has to be one of the best courses I have played. It is a little bit out of the way but it is well worth the effort! If you get a chance, I would definitely recommend giving it a go!
