Rochester & Cobham Park Golf Club is a 2024 men’s Open qualifying host course, wide open with generous fairways edged with waving grasses, views right across the course, and sporadic trees. It looks wonderful. The bunkers are mostly out of reach from the tee, and mostly avoidable at the greens. The test of this course is the swales and run-off areas at the greens. You can’t play this course once and then know where to hit your approach shot, it can bounce left, right, or roll nicely up to the pin.
An enjoyable, rather than daunting, challenge. I think most women would have a very pleasant day out here.
