Welcome to the beta version of the new Women & Golf website. Our web monkeys are still hard at work and welcome your feedback.
Set in the Hampshire countryside, Old Thorns Golf Course is surrounded by woodland, incorporating elements of moorland and parkland. With numerous hazards along the way, you’ll have a different challenge on each hole.
It's this course that made me wish that Women & Golf would set up a review site for women. I think it sets up so well for us. Its challenge isn't all about length or being able to hit a high shot 140 yards over bunkers into a green. It's tricky and really makes you think, but it's an achievable challenge. It's also beautiful and with some wonderful views. If you add in the hotel with spa facilities it makes a great venue for a ladies weekend. It gets marked down because it has no on-course loo (the ones you see are locked!) and the halfway hut is very modest. It's also very busy.
