Nizels is a stunning parkland course with a variety of challenges and features. Opened in 1992, this championship course was designed using every feature of the countryside's natural contours.
Measuring 6,361 yards from the back tees, Nizels consists of five Par 5s and five Par 3s, giving golfers of all abilities the chance to make a good score.
The course has played host to the Henry Cooper Junior Masters since 1998. Perhaps the biggest obstacle are our three lakes, perfectly positioned to catch any ball falling short of several of our greens.
I have played this excellent course many times in matches over the years. It gives a good variety of different challenges. Nearly every hole requires you to think about how to play it. Water features on quite a few holes, including some shots over water to the greens. The greens are fairly small, but usually in good condition. It would be quite a challenge for the highest handicaps, but for most people there is always an accessible route. It suffers badly in the wettest weather, but at other times is in great condition. I played here a week ago and really enjoyed it.
