I really enjoyed playing this coastal links with views of the sea and of the Northumberland hills in the distance. The forward tees are mostly individually placed, with no silly carries and several decision- making challenges. The styling of waving grasses, gorse and revered bunkers is usual to links but the addition of pale green shimmering dunes before the sea is very pretty. The par 3s are excellent and real fun to play and are the final two holes for women at 9 and 18. As links go, this is in the playable and less daunting category, and well worth a visit.
