Duff House Royal Golf Club is a Championship Course designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie, who next designed Augusta National, is one of the outstanding courses in the North of Scotland.
Our course is ranked just outside the Top 50 courses in the Scotland, an accolade richly deserved.
And no wonder...the design skills of the legendary Dr Alister MacKenzie are self-evident in the challenging two-tier greens which were the forerunner of none other than Augusta National, the home of The Masters. Enjoy the originals here in Banff!
The course, which sets a demanding scratch of 68, is set in a beautiful, manicured parkland setting which surprises with glimpses of the Moray Firth.
The famous River Deveron, the challenge to many an angler, borders five holes and flows into the sea through the seven-span Banff Bridge, and forms the backdrop to the closing holes. Honorary member Ewen Murray of Sky Sports can often be found on the banks if not on the course.
Nestling within the borders of the tree-lined course is Duff House, considered one of the grandest classical country houses built in the 18th century. It is managed by Historic Scotland and contains fine paintings and furniture on loan from the National Galleries of Scotland.
Duff House Royal Golf Club – the only royal golf club where the royal title is used as a suffix and not a prefix. It is believed the reason for the royal title being a suffix to Duff House was a tribute to Louise, who was known as the Princess Royal, not the Royal Princess
But golf is not all at Duff House Royal; we pride ourselves on our hospitality, our dining experience, our resident ex-tour professional and all the things you would hope for to make your day complete - easy parking, buggy hire, visitors' locker rooms and the chance to relax in our clubhouse and reflect on a day well spent.
