This is a course for long hitters, and with the hotel and spa it could make a great getaway for a low handicap group. For average hitters, the 6000 yards off the forward tees is daunting, and a curious design decision for a venue that otherwise seems ideal for women’s golf breaks. The wide fairways, natural design, big greens, views of Wiltshire, trees and wildlife mean it’s a pleasurable experience though as you wander along with your fairway wood. I recommend you play in the running conditions of summer if you want to give it a go.
