First Impressions

Straight out of the packet, the colour is a triumph — a soft dusty rose that looks expensive. It pairs beautifully with white trousers, which is handy, since white trousers are approximately 90% of my summer wardrobe. The cut looks smart rather than sporty

Fit and Comfort

I am, by my own admission, a fairly standard-issue middle-aged golfer: slimmer legs, but a midriff that has quietly staged a takeover over the years. The XL was generous enough through the body that I never felt like a sausage in its casing. The trade-off, as is so often the way with women’s golf kit, is that extra width arrives with extra length bolted on for free. On me it was too long, so it’s now folded under at the waist — not elegant, but effective. Once folded, it sat comfortably through 9 and 18 holes with no riding up, no gaping, and no need to keep tugging it back into place.

On the Course

The Drycool fabric does what it says on the label. It stayed cool and it moved freely enough through the swing that I never noticed I was wearing it, which is really the highest compliment a golf top can receive. My favourite detail is the cup sleeve. A nice halfway house for those of us who aren’t quite ready to bare all in a sleeveless top, but don’t want the half sleeves in the height of summer.

Style

Smart enough for the clubhouse, and genuinely wearable off the course too — nothing about it screams “golf” if you don’t want it to. It washes beautifully, which after a summer of repeat wears is not a small thing to say.
