New generation irons blend five unique club constructions to make the game easier for women, seniors, and newer golfers
Cobra Golf has unveiled the latest generation of its iconic Baffler irons, bringing back a design that first changed the game in 1975. In honor of its 50th anniversary, the Baffler returns as Cobra’s most advanced combo set to date—engineered with forgiveness, consistency, and easy launch in mind.
The new Baffler is designed specifically for mid- to high-handicap players, including women, seniors, and beginners. Its strength lies in its unique combination of five different club constructions, each tailored to handle a variety of lies and distances with confidence.
The set flows from traditional hybrids to hybrid irons, hollow irons, cavity-back irons, and wedges. This progressive design ensures smooth yardage gaps throughout the bag and improved control in the scoring clubs.
A Legacy Reimagined
The original Baffler was created by Cobra founder Thomas Crow in 1975 and became known for its “rail” sole design, which helped players make clean contact from almost any turf condition. The new Baffler continues this tradition with a progressive rail system: steeper rails in the hybrids and long irons, shallow rails in the short irons, and no rails in the wedges.
Options for Women
The Baffler returns with both men’s and women’s sets, each configured for performance and ease of play:
Women’s Set
- 6 Hybrid (26°)
- 7 Hybrid-Iron (29°)
- 8 & 9 Hollow Irons (34° / 39°)
- Pitching Wedge (44°)
- Sand Wedge (56°) included; Gap Wedge available as custom add-on
Designed to Make Golf More Enjoyable
“We built the Baffler combo set to help golfers enjoy every swing,” said Jose Miraflor, VP of Product Architecture and Consumer Connections at Cobra Golf. “This is the first combo set to feature five unique constructions, giving players effortless distance and easy playability.”
